Types of Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a solution-focused approach to treating various emotional difficulties. The treatment is based on the collaboration between the therapist and the client as they work together to treat the client’s specific problem.

The CBT approach I use is considered a ‘third wave’ approach known as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). CBT is an empirically- based therapy and the approach I make use of includes mindfulness and acceptance strategies as well as commitment and behaviour change plans in order to encourage psychological flexibility.
